These are some one off projects I had a lot of fun with and actually enjoyed how they turned out. I wouldn't normally put them in as portfolio pieces, but I do think they show how my creative brain works and how I am not afraid to try new things, even if they aren't always successful.
The one and only time I became a scanographer.
This bit of magic happened in my production design class. The funny part is that I actually received a 'C' because I didn't yet know the difference between exporting PSD files and saving them. No matter, because I still got an 'A' in the class and my scanography piece was awesome. I decided to experiment with what other objects and textures on the scanning machine can do to imitate a perfume spray.
I became Tik Tok famous with an ad on bandaids
Or at least we tried. My partner Kelsey Veenstra and I created four videos for a social media brand campaign. This was our only successful one at 2200 views and nearly 200 likes.
The rest of the campaign involved tweets with the key message: Band Aids stick until you take them off.
I may have gotten a lil political
I did this in one of my classes learning about picking out typefaces for ad campaigns. My insight for the astrology app showed many American millennials leaving established religion behind and embracing other forms of spirituality as a means of dealing with the world around them, specifically their political world. This lead me to the #EmpoweredByStars campaign.
